A MyAir floatplane group outing!
The first “home airport” of flight sim was Chicago’s Miegs Field (KCGX) and the second was Princess Juliana (TNCM) in the Caribbean.
The lesser recognised third was Bowerman (KHQM), Hoquiam, Washington, made popular by ORBX’s free PNW FSX/P3D demo.
This is where we will begin our land to seaborne adventure. Our next port of call will be a brief splash down at the Victoria Harbour seaplane base (CYWH) after which we’ll continue northbound to Vancouver Harbour seaplane base (CYHC) for a well deserved drink. Before partaking of our reward, we must first dock our float planes instead of abandoning or scuttling them…if you’ve not tried this before then all I can say is, “oh boy!”. There’s plenty to see including the cities of Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver and the area is festooned with islands, islets, waterways, ships, boats, airfields and water runways. Keep a good lookout too because the airspace can be terrifically busy! In order to not miss the low-level essence of this trip, here’s a 204nm suggested route with attached

Any small/medium sized amphibious type would be suitable (Goose, Albatross, Icon A5, DHC-2, DHC-6, C208 Caravan, Kodiak 100, C172, PC-6, PA-18, etc).
